Pepper are subjected to many problems such as weeds and diseases like tobacco mosaic virus, damping off, blossom end rot, spotted wilt phytophthora root rot, cucumber virus, bacterial spot, Alternaria leaf spot and of cause Cercospora leaf spot. Therefore this study was conducted to determine the effect of rice husk extract on leaf spot disease of pepper and yield. Experimental design was randomized complete block design with three replicates. The total plot size was 8m by 17m, while the sub plot size was 2m by 2m with 1m walk way between the plots. The treatments were negative control and positive control (mancozeb), rice husk extract at 2, 3, 4, 5%. N.P.K 15:15:15 fertilizer was applied at two weeks of transplanting. This study shows that there was no significant difference (P≥0.05) in the severity one of disease measurement. However, severity two shows that there was significance difference (P≤0.05)in the treatments but there was no significant difference (P≥0.05) between negative and positive controls. Severity three shows that there was significant difference (P≤0.05) in the treatments and also, there was significant difference (P≤0.05) between negative and positive control. In severity four there was significant difference (P≤0.05) between negative and positive control. However, the treatments have no significant difference (P≥0.05). This suggests that rice husk extract has pesticidal effect on leaf spot disease of pepper and also can be used in place of mancozeb.
